Call for proposals launched to fund innovative research with a social impact
The call for proposals is now in its second year and aims to support scientific and applied research in artificial intelligence in the health, insurance, education and environmental sectors. The projects should have a positive impact on the community, respond to local needs, test innovative solutions and foster cooperation between universities, research bodies, businesses and the Third Sector. The budget for the call is 4 million euros. Four proposals will be selected, one per category, and each will be awarded up to 1 million euros. Expressions of interest to participate in the call must be made by 15 March 2022, and applications must be submitted by 31 May 2022.
Projects should be presented in partnership with at least seven partners: a lead partner (one of the universities affiliated with Compagnia di San Paolo: University and Polytechnic of Turin, University of Eastern Piedmont, University of Genoa and University Federico II of Naples), an evaluation body, two research and development partners, at least two local partners with a registered office in Italy and a Node Manager with expertise in management, economics and finance identified by the two Foundations. CDP Foundation and Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation want to help promote initiatives with a high social impact through this call for proposals. It will connect resources, universities and researchers on issues of strategic importance for the country's future, supporting the interdisciplinary nature of research and fostering its application impact.
