With a loan of over 13 million euro from CDP, Castellammare di Stabia, in the province of Naples, will be able to realise a new urban generation project
The location is the neighbourhood of Savorito, a suburb to the north of the municipality, where prefabs were built to solve the housing emergency following the earthquake of 1980. It is an area severely lacking in public services and infrastructure.
The project involves the demolition of the existing buildings and the construction of 96 residential housing units as well as public green spaces, a multipurpose sports pitch, a skatepark, a nursery school, car parks and new roads.
The buildings will be earthquake-resistant, free of architectural barriers and made with natural materials, limiting the consumption of soil. From an energy perspective, the buildings will have photovoltaic systems, underfloor heating and cooling systems with heat pumps and solar thermal heating, and systems for streamlining water consumption.
As well as the loan granted by CDP, the project has benefitted from the resources of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan as the operation forms part of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport’s National Innovation Programme for Quality Housing.
