Agreement between CDP, Filiera Italia and Coldiretti to support Italian agri-food companies

Planned initiatives to support innovation, growth and internationalisation processes

Rome, 29 June 2024 - Support for Italian companies in strategic areas of the agri-food sector and international cooperation for development. These are the cornerstones of the memorandum of understanding signed by CDP with Coldiretti and Filiera Italia on the second day of the Coldiretti Village in Venice.

The agreement was signed by Massimo Di Carlo - Deputy General Manager and Chief Business Officer of CDP, Ettore Prandini - Coldiretti Chairman, and Luigi Scordamaglia - Chief Executive Officer of Filiera Italia.

The collaboration will also roll out measures to foster innovation, sustainable growth and international expansion for the entire sector and support the investment initiatives of companies operating in emerging economies, to stimulate the development of local agri-food supply chains and matchmaking activities between Italian companies and the local business fabric.

Thanks to the participation of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, alternative finance and subsidised credit tools will also be available.
This collaboration will also facilitate access to credit for Filiera Italia and Coldiretti member companies in the “mid to large” segment, and new guarantee initiatives may be launched by CDP in favour of the companies involved, with a special focus on supporting SMEs with a view to enhancing the national agri-food sector.
Furthermore, the collaboration will include communication activities aimed at the companies registered with Filiera Italia and Coldiretti, showcasing the initiatives promoted through roadshows, matchmaking events to facilitate the meeting and synergies of Italian companies with institutions and organisations in emerging countries, working groups and study and analysis activities tailored to the needs of the companies involved.

“It is with great satisfaction - says Massimo Di Carlo, Deputy General Manager and Chief Business Officer of CDP - that we renew our partnership with Coldiretti and Filiera Italia, confirming CDP’s growing commitment to the development of a key sector such as the agri-food industry. The agreement will promote key initiatives to facilitate access to credit for companies in the sector, including through alternative finance instruments provided by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. Activities aimed at international expansion will also be promoted, with a special focus on emerging economies”.
